Mt. Pulag Stop Breaking My Heart!

Went back for a resbak at Mt. Pulag last Feb. 11-13 via Akiki-Amba trail and it was yet again another memorable Pulag experience. Fudge that mountain, it keeps playing hard to get! One day I'm really gunna win it over haha. Good thing I was w/ real nice people: S.O.L.E (of course, duh!) and ATOMS, who made the climb fun in spite and despite of the never ending assault and the "almost" hypothermia episodes from some of us. And good thing the view through the entire trail was great, actually to say the word great is an understatement. I cannot count how many times I have uttered the words "ang ganda naman"... really thankful that my eyes were able to see such beautiful masterpiece. I could have chronicled every nitty-gritty details here but you see, I'm feeling kinda selfish right now to share everything. Some things are better stored na lang in your brain's memory bank for your own enjoyment, y'ung tipong tatawa ka na lang magisa out of the blue like a lunatic 'pag bigla mo naalala then the people around you would look at you with the most weirdo facial expressions plastered on their face! and then maybe they'd think you were laughing at them and all that jazz hahaha just the thought of it makes me laugh na! hahaha they will never know har har har (echos)

Surprise!

I feel so Sunny! Excited for a few things I wish I could accomplish. I'm one lady on a mission again. And just like before, I'm planning another surprise to some random friends:D I love surprises. I love all the efforts put into it. I love all the planning. I love seeing those shocked happy faces after popping the surprise--priceless!:). I love the happiness brought by the surprise whether you're the one who prepared it or the one getting punked:P I love the happiness it brings to people I love. I love looking back at surprises. Okay, OA na, haha. I bet these are enough to emphasize how giddy and excited I am into this mini surprise projects to some random people that're well... pretty much important to me.

PLEASE LANG SAMANTHA UMAYOS KA. PULL THIS OFF! haha!

On other news...

Eco Park

Our club, SOLE took a time off the mountains last week and decided to go for a laid back picnic day at Eco Park to plan out our resbak to Pulag climb for Feb. All along I thought the said park is just somewhere along Trinoma but little did I know that it was 3 long hours away from Laguna. The original plan was to go Angling (fishing), but they say the fishes were too tiny and won't be a good catch. Good thing the park offers many activities. We wanted go horse back riding but the horse were also tiny! hahaha they were too tiny for our men. Anyho, being the outdoor people that we are, we just opted to go wall climbing and we had fun! And again, the day didn't pass without a blooper from me--I hate it! haha klutzy sammy, what boohoo.

Pico de Loro

Pico de Loro was the first mountain I intended to climb 'cause I thought the trail is just easy peasy, but I stand corrected after the group traversed the mountain. The whole Pico de Loro experience was fun because I trekked it with fun people and not to mention, I was able to bug a dear college friend, Carla to join this specific climb! *heee* :> Plus, I was able to climb its beak, which was actually my favorite part of the whole traverse. :D

I kind of feel sad though, because I wasn't able to take lots of decent pictures of the mountain unlike my climb in Batulao. But Batulao is a different story; that mountain is really photogenic from any angle! (somebody trek me back to Batulao!). But still and all, it was a legen-wait for it!-dary climb! haha why? well I'd just like to keep the nitty gritty details to my SOLE. :P

That Was Helluva Ride

Golly gee, I've been on hiatus since November. But that doesn't mean nothing fun happened to me. It's the exact opposite as a matter of factly. And I've no one to thank but God for every bit of blessings He have never failed to shower me. :)

So what on Earth have I been up to for the last quarter of 2011? WARNING: This is gunna be a long one:P

November Highlights:

My first climb evaaaah!:D I

As always, I saling ket-ket again to Pops' camera club's out of town event. For this month they opted to climb Mt.Pulag. And if you're a dear friend of mine, you'd probably know how much I've been wanting to climb way back college days, if it weren't for (insert speculations here). :P

My first climb wasn't so good although the whole experience was fun and to say unforgettable would actually be an understatement. We didn't reached the summit because it was raining hard already in camp 2; No clearing at all, it was 13 degrees freezing cold while we tried to sleep inside our damp tent in our wet 3 layers of clothing, the wind was so hard you'd think why the fudge did you joined that climb (haha!), and for the love of all our Canons and gadgets, we just really couldn't make it to the summit with that kind of weather. But still, it was quite an experience! Like HARDCORE experience. :D

So how did our supposedly sea of clouds go? Here, just us posing for the camera hahaha! FAIL:))

DECEMBER Highlights:

Jump-started my December with another climb. This time I was with SoLe (Society of Lost Explorers). I've been bugging my friend, Alvin since late 2010 about me joining their group but this girl got busy with work and grad school and voluntarism that put my joining their several climbing invites aside. But after my first climb, it just made me crave for some more, so I bugged the poor friend again. *teehee* :))

I couldn't be happier knowing the SoLe people. They're just all simply funny and very easy to get along with. They're very friendly, no dull moments, and you just won't help yourself but laugh at their hirits. These peeps are cool. ;D

On my 2nd climb, there's still no clearing! But what the fudge I met these awesome bundok fellas. :D

After that first week, I got busy with work. We had to fix everything for the kids' Christmas party and 3rd quarter exam before we set for the Christmas vacation. The kids, oh those love of my life kiddos had so much fun during the Christmas party. :D Too bad I wasn't able to take quality videos this time, though...

A day after the school's Christmas party, I flew off for a Cebu-Bohol trip with some college friends!:D

I can only take full advantage of the Christmas vacay and Holy week in my line of work, so during those opportune time, I'd see to it that I'd have a decent memorable vacay. And this one really made a mark. I fell in love with Bohol. It's such a beautiful place. <3

And I spent the remaining 2 days of 2011 with SoLe in Mt. Batulao. Batulao is by far my favorite mountain. It's so pretty and calming and photogenic. I love that mountain. It's a mountain I'd definitely trek again. <3

And I'm glad I spent it with SoLe 'cause those people really added spice to my life. It's like me getting exposed to new things that were non-existent in my world before. :D

There ya go! Those were pretty much what kept me busy for the last quarter of 2011. And so far, 2012 had been really spoiling me w/ fun. Thank You God! Excited for all the upcoming climbs and travels!:D

Quick Chicky Date

It's very Sunny to see my good, old-Jurassic friends earlier this evening even just for a quick dinner together. They really are my sisters from another mothah. Sobrang I feel blessed that they are my friends because not everyone have managed to keep their friendship with their friends intact through elementary-highschool-college-employment. And I'm just glad we are one of those blessed ones whose friendship have been tried and tested as in literal na kahit may tampuhan, one call lang of a friend who's in need, we'll go to the rescue in a jiffy. Or even with the shallowest problem, like during the time when I still do not know how to open a gas tank, my dear friend Cha came to the rescue on her bike just to help me open it. Or when I cannot bury myself my pet dog who died, Galvs my dear guy friend with his girlfriend came to the rescue to dig a hole and bury my dog. And during my down moments when someone I knew before, have recently attacked me with accusations on Fb (of all the venues), all it took was one text message and Em, Joy, Tina, Galvs, Mau, and Teng came to the rescue to comfort and entertain me. We love and care for each other with every bit of sincerity and authenticity. See why I love my troupe? I literally got carried away on that one. <3 :'>

So anyway, back to our regular program--our dinner was one helluva heavy one. We ate at Chicboy. We chose the place 'cause they say their food is good and Joy was craving for it for like 2 weeks already. And I'm the only person in our group who haven't tried their chicken yet. Loser, I know.

Our group likes to budget--A LOT. We like getting our money's worth. Some may see us as shopping addicts especially Tina and I, but what they do not know is our practical side, which enables us to have some extra dime to buy some extra goodies ;) Even during our out of town trips or house parties, there would always be an extra fund left that could still be spent for something else. So as we were looking at the menu, we compared prices of each meal vs. to the price of the group meal. Finally the tribe has spoken and we all agreed to buy 1 whole chicken, one side order of grilled eggplant w/ bagoong and a plate of steamed kang-kong with garlic bits...oooh, yummm... but for the benefit of our dear meat-lover friend Tina who doesn't really have a good relationship with gulay, Joy and I ordered a stick of pork bbq for her. Sweet, I know. :P For the drinks, Em and Joy opted for bottomless iced tea, while Tina and I just had water 'cause Tina is under water therapy while I'm just a plain advocate of water. I don't like sodas and I rarely drink juice. Water simply makes my body happy (aside from coffee of course). So anyway, that was all of our orders. We were 4 ladies who ordered a meal good for 5-6 people. Our budget was 400 and we still got a change that we bought for our dessert. And believe it or not, we still had some extra penny to buy some goodies just to spend all of what was left of our change. Joy bought a hair clip, Em got herself an ear-cleaner, I forgot what Tina bought, and I brought home a pair of gloves to be used on our mt.Pulag climb this Friday. Geez, I really like how we budget!:)

AND OH! Happy and have a safe trip to Hong Kong tomorrow Em! I'm sure you'll gunna love the place as much as I did. Given the chance, I'd always be willing to go back there. It was love at first sight. :)

Weekend Backpacking-Road Trip

I really love being a Southern girl and I love-love living in Laguna, 'cause hell-O I was born and raised here. And now, I even work here! My love for Laguna also comes with my love for nature. I'm not a beach bum person kasi. If you'd make me choose between Boracay and Ilocos, I'd choose Ilocos. I get bored with beach 'cause I feel like, okay we'll go to the beach, sit on the shore, oh tapos? Unlike when you go nature tripping, there's just so many good things to look at, discover, and try. And no, this has nothing to do with the fact that I cannot swim-- Ha! So anyway, since ALL of my friends from high-school and college prefers beach over climbing/nature thing, I sometimes feel frustrated especially when I really, really wanna go to some forest and camp out but none of my girlies could accompany me, so just imagine how giddy I am to be with co-teachers/friends that are equally in love with nature!

And finally, after months of planning and waiting, our road trip finally took place last weekend--Hooray! The whole thing was out of our dearest teacher Mags's idea last July as we were looking at the list of holidays for the rest of the year and soon after she mentioned the idea of discovering Laguna, wala ng usapan pa, go na agad! :D

Our first stop: Calamba Laguna because believe it or not, I haven't been to our Nat'l Joe's abode in Calamba.

From Pila, we went to Sta. Cruz then to Liliw! SHOE SHOPPING! I bought 4 pairs: 2 for me, 1 for mama, and 1 for my sister. It's my Christmas gift for them. I know they don't read my blogs so it's safe to mention it here *winkwink*

And thank goodness we found this coffee haven! It's a Mary Grace Cafe look alike inside!

After shopping, we headed to Nagcarlan, and true to being backpackers we just chanced upon a great place to swim and retire for the day at Villa Grogoria. The room is very nice, clean, and just enough to fit in 5 pretty ladies. The entire place is actually good. They have many pools, as in more than 5 pools, one of which is an Olympic size, some are kiddie pools w/ slides. Your group's privacy is also guaranteed because like I said, they have many pools for you to choose from so the guests will not pretty much just swim on one specific pool. :) And because I loved the place a lot, I'm thinking of bringing my folks there for their wedding anniversary this March. That is, of course, upon my Great Financer's approval: God. :)

Then we headed for Cavinti, Japanese Garden. The place was a disappointment because it was not maintained. The Bonsai plants are gone. Dried leaves all over the place. Sayang, I hope they could revive the place because it's quite wide... but with a 10-Peso entrance fee, what would we expect nga naman. Nevertheless, we still had fun. :-)

Then we headed back to Los Baños for UP-LB Grove to buy UP shirts, visit their famous thrift shop, Papu's siomai, and Mer-Nel's chocolate cake. :-)

That road trip was full of favors and surprises from God, so I wanna glorify God for being with us through out the entire road trip. And to our dearest teacher Maggie for being our superwoman driver! Galing sobra lalo na on the zig-zag part of the road. I wish I could drive like her someday.

And to dearest D-Max for navigating the way for us. Team Almoro for the win!! :D

I also wanna clap-clap for my gadgets! Thank you for working so goood! ha ha! Grabe, I love you Canon! Canon for the win! =*

Trick or Treat!!!

This day was a day for a lot of tricks and many, many treats for the kids at Rosewood School because

it's that time of the year where the kids are licensed to binge on sweets. I remember how as a kid, Pops would take me to Ayala Alabang village to go trick or treating from one house to another, and how would I almost stay beside manong sorbetero because of the free ice cream treat dedicated for that day, and I can still also remember how giddy I was rummaging through my bags full of treats as I get home; feeling like I've brought home treasures from a sunken ship. Today, I'm glad to be part of making the kids happy. Today also marks another first on my teaching experience. Really, really feel blessed. Pretty Sunny day for everyone.

T-Day Hooray!

Today was totally another 'first' for me. It's Teachers' Day!:-) It's one of those slap-me-am-I-dreaming-yes-I-am-teaching days of my life. I'm all teary talaga... I know, this is how shallow I am. Super babaw lang talaga ng kaligayahan ko, you know. So anyway, I went to school this morning just like an ordinary day. Dropped my bag on my desk and immediately went straight to the Kinder class where T.Apple welcomed me with a great smile and greeted me "Happy Teachers' Day", that greeting alone would've been enough for me, but then after a couple of minutes, T.Rox came and greeted me too, followed by T.Mags who entered the room, hugged, and greeted me with matching this very nice and sweet letter:

We ended the day carrying flowers, a dinner with Sir Carlo, and a bucketful of laughter, love, and hugs from children. I really cannot put into words how I'm feeling right now...I'm just so blessed by the joy that life's simplicity is showering me. Again, I'm just your average Joe, whose happiness is so mababaw. While we were having dinner, the headhunter that had been calling me for days for a job offer in SG called me. It was right in the middle of the guffaws between all of us teachers, and right then and there, I turned down the offer. Sometimes, it's really not always about the money. I've always believed in going after your passion, happiness, and purpose. When I'm not happy with my state or in what I'm doing, I'm always ready to drop it anytime because I don't want to waste time. There are many ways to earn and to get by and sometimes it's just a matter of perspective and lifestyle. I don't want to sound too religious on this one but, gaah God...wow...I am amazed with how much you've honed and is still honing me. I love You. You're truly an awesome and the greatest Teacher above all, yesterday, today, and forever. :-)

Been so busy for a couple of weeks because it was crunch time at grad. school. My schedule was totally at a stretch having to juggle work, which is 3 classes a day followed by 1 tutoring service right after, then comes my own studies when I get home. No complains though, because I really love everything that's going on with me right now. But still, I'm thankful to God because in between the busyness are His sweet ways of making me giddy, cheery, and all sunny. First, remember my previous blog about my travel list? Yeah, the one I mentioned something about putting check marks on at least 2 places from the long list before the year ends. Well, you see, God's really full of surprises for His children. Because just as I have mentioned that He have been blessing me of free travels in the past, here He is again blessing me with not one, but 3 more FREE travels on the 3 places listed on my travel list! YAY!!! ^___^ And I'd also like to stress out that on that previous blog, what I'm only praying is for 2 more check marks on my travel list before the year ends, but God decided to help me put 4 check marks on my travel list!:D Grabe, I am really in awe and amazed how God is moving in my life. Sobrang I cannot contain His love!

Second, my first ever comprehensive exam at grad school is finally over! Gone are the nervous days of my life (at least for now). I'm just glad because He helped me get through the comps without having a hard time answering because it was His wisdom that flow during the entire exam. It was NOT me at all. It was all God. Because me? Duh, I am nothing without my God.

So anyway, you know what I like about being the photographer's daughter? It's being photographed and making all your life's milestones recorded and filed. Just like how pops always like taking pictures of me doing things for the first time, like driving. This time, it's the moment when I first had my comps exam (Gee, I'm so blessed to have supportive dad, even if sometimes my spur of the moment, crazy ideas would make him cringe haha)

I Chose to Wander.

I thought my love for gadgets is deeper than my love to travel. Originally, I was planning to get me an iTouch because of two, super shallow reasons: Tap Tap Revenge and Instagram! ha ha ha! and a tablet. But I realized that I'm getting old while my travel list is getting longer, and at the same time have been rotting on my cork board, notebooks, and even on my mobile (Yes, I love writing my dream destinations wherever and whenever). I really have to do this now or never, (grabe?) ha ha! I'm ready to see new places I've never been to and not to mention shelling out some moolah too.

There are factors that led me to this decision:

1. I'm not 100% in love with iTouch and come to think of it, I really do not need one. I've most of the gadgets that I want and seriously, how many gadgets must one have, right? .... .... ... RIGHT?? C'mon, agree with me! Ha Ha!

2. My male best friend made this statement, "Pera lang 'yan. Bukas, kikitain mo 'yan ulit"

3. It's time to start putting check marks on my travel list as in seryoso, because if I don't start, then they will forever be just a list.

4. Because of my newly found traveler/blogger. Got super inspired!

5. I get all jumpy every time I'd think of the places I'd love to visit even during those lull moments you'd have while waiting for sleep to succumb you at night.

6. I WANT TO TRAVEL!!!

Okay, there. Are those valid enough? he he.

So I said on one of my previous blogs that our target December trip would be Bangkok, but you see, I'm a self-confessed kuripot byahera, so I'm never buying Bangkok tickets until I get a mega seat-sale jackpot!:P . So I'll just keep waiting until I get my dream PISO FARE. Har Har. So instead of Bangkok, me and my college friends would go to Bohol!

I am praying and targeting to be able to put check marks on at least 3 dream destinations on my list before the year ends. So far, I have managed to put a check on one of my dream destinations (HK), all thanks to my brother. Bohol would be the second, and the 3rd one would be secret. I'll spill the beans when it's sure na. :P

I know, my whole traveling fantasy is quite grand and all but God is faithful. I know He'd let me see my dream places someday... one at a time, just like how He made me see: Sagada (For Free), Bicol (For Free), Boracay (For Free), Aklan (For Free), Batanggas, Nueva Ecija (For Free), Ilocos (For Free), Quezon (For Free), Tagaytay, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga (For Free), Subic (For Free), Puerto Galera, Baguio, and recently, Hong Kong (For Free). See how faithful, sweet, and awesome God is? 10 out of my 16 travels, God gave me for FREE!:D That was freaking sunny! Whew, just made me realized how God have been giving me huge favors and how much He have blessed my life. Mighty, Mighty God talaga! My heart cannot contain how Great is Thy Name! Grabe, Thank You GOD. Truly, when you delight Yourself in the Lord, He would indeed give You the desires of Your heart, so thank You in advance for my future travels, God!=)

Yesterday, we (Rosewood school) celebrated the Buwan ng Wika. The children came to school looking cute, sporting their costumes. Though I've done this kind of school activity before as a student, this one's extra special because A. I celebrated it w/ my new found friends/family and B. This is, again, another first to me! (go figure) =)

I only had a chance to take photos on the morning classes and here are just some of them...

Places I Pray to See

This dude is my inspiration. Here's why:

Get me now? There's actually a third video, which is EAT, but I'd like to focus on the 2 videos above because they really inspired me to explore more, travel more, and learn even more. Never mind the eating part 'cause I don't need further inspiration or encouragement on that aspect.

The following are my Faith Goal destinations

Outside the country:

- Bangkok (hopefully this December)

- Cambodia (Hopefully by Summer, next year)

- Vietnam (I don't know yet)

In Pinas:

- Batanes

- Palawan

- Bohol

- Cebu

- Alaminos

I'd really be happy if God would allow me to see those places.

As to the learning part:

- Drive

- Dance Jazz

- Ice skate

- err I have yet to think what else because right now I'm busy learning Education units at grad. school pa. he he.

Are my mini dreams feasible? Please tell me yes, otherwise can somebody slap me back to reality?

Hong to the Kong

I fell in love with Hong Kong. I actually considered living there for good. People there are so disciplined especially with their traffic rules, plus they're really dedicated to their work no matter what kind of work it is; very inspiring and have taught me something. Imagine, the personnel who picks up trashes in Disneyland uses flashlight to peek through thick bushes, searching for tiny candy wrappers or pieces of paper that might have gotten stuck somewhere along the leaves. I went wow when I saw it. And when my sister asked a cop if she could take a picture with him the cop told her, "I'm sorry, I'm busy. I'm working". Another thing that we noticed is that even the really, really old fellas are still allowed and given the chance to work. We saw a couple of really old fellas working on fast-food chains with pins on their uniform saying they are trainees. 60 something year old woman training for the cashier post--Bravo! I would do that too, e. Seriously, I don't want to just reach 60 and then wait for my death bed doing nothing, that'll drive me nuts. They're always in a hurry, though. And if you can't keep up with their pace, then you better be ready to get shoved by shoulders coming from all corners. Another lovely thing about the country was their cheap goods! My goodness, it's a shopping haven. If you're someone who loves to shop, then you. must. not. miss. the. chance. to. shop. in. Hong Kong.

Day 1 was all about shopping

My Disneyland experience was superb! My sister and I suddenly went back to our fairy tale days. I was so emotional the entire time I was inside the theme park because never in my entire life have I imagined that one day I'd be able to go to Disneyland. To me, it was something impossible. And I'm not exaggerating. That's why I was so overwhelmed by Mickey Mouse's presence and became teary eyed on all the rides we tried.

I can now totally relate to one of Disney songs: ♫Unbelievable sight, indescribable feeling♫ OA na kung OA, but that's how it really was during my visit to the park; it was totally a Whole New World. So it deserves a heart symbol ♥ here in my blog. That was really sunny, honey.

I wanted to buy this headband or the umbrella but it's not practical. So there, I was actually going to buy this na when they took my photo. I looked at it then I go, "okay na! may picture na 'ko! ha ha" But on our way home Pops bought me a Mickey Mouse necklace--yay!

Day 3 was shopping again in the morning and Tram Peak in the evening (Tram Peak is the highest place in HK where you can enjoy the whole city's beauty).

Day 4 was dedicated to the last minute whole day shopping before going back to Pinas. We're really not a family of shoppers. Nope, not a bit. (sarcasm)

This shirt has a story. We were shopping for souvenirs and pasalubongs when I saw this shirt. I told Pops, "Look, oh. Ang nice ng statement. Sayang 'di bagay sa'kin yu'ng message." Then Pops, being his sweet and loving father self suddenly said,"Gusto mo 'yan? bibilin ko 'yan para sa'yo" That was an "Aaaw" moment for me. I'm so blessed. Oh those simple things. <3

I'm Flying Away

Howdy! Here's a picture of mom and I saying goodbye for a while because...

We're flying for Hong Kong! Yay! :D I'm very excited for this trip because:

A. It's my first time to travel outside the country

B. It's OUR first time as a family to go out of the country

C. I've always dreamed of going to Disney Land and it actually came to a point where I've convinced myself that I'm never gunna be able to see Mickey Mouse

D. There's going to be a lot of shopping, photo ops, and FOOD trippings!

I might be on hiatus for 5 days here in Blogger but I hope there's wifi on the place we're staying because I need to keep up w/ grad school while on vacay (Kill Joy here).

Sheeesh I can't wait to take pictures already!

July Ended with a Bang!

July was declared as the Nutrition Month as per DepEd's year calendar, so for the entire month of July, we let the kids bring snacks that are nutritious and belong to the food pyramid making the trio Go, Grow, and Glow popular once more. As a matter of fact, it's so amazing to hear the kids in our school (Rosewood) talk about their food and incorporate them to the popular trio supra just like this one kid who happened not to have rice for snacks and another kid talking with his classmates also during snack time:

Prep Kid: Teacher, I don't have rice. I don't have carbohydrates. I don't have Energy.

Nursery Kid: I'm eating cereals, this is a Go food.

(See what I mean?:D )

Anyway, today was one of those stuffed days of my life because we ended the Nutrition Month with a bang of Go, Grow, and Glow foods. The kids brought different foods according to the specific food group that was assigned to them, which they shared among each other during their snack time. And to make it more exciting, we made them bring their very own fruit/vegetable eye-mask. :)

The kids really had fun today and seeing them like that makes my heart smile and melt all the way.

My Childhood Fantasy

When I was a kid (elementary days), my parents never taught me how to ride a bike because they don't want me to get boo-boos in the process of learning. My mom is the number one deterrent of the whole biking idea because she cares so much of our (my ate and I) skin. But the adventure seeker and extreme in me won me over and so I connived with my playmates and persuaded them to teach me how to ride a bike secretly :P

One afternoon, while Pops was busy watering the plants, I suddenly decided to borrow my playmate's bike, which was even taller than me at that time. I passed by our house while waving my hand and calling at our household at the top of my lungs saying, "Papa! Mama! Marunong na 'ko mag-bike!" with matching smile. So my mom instantly went out of the house to see what was it I was yelling about. Then she saw me and obviously, wala na s'ya nagawa. Then I consoled her by assuring her (showing her my legs) that I didn't get any injury from learning the art of biking. :)

I will forever thank my neighbor/playmate who lent me his bike. Then every year, I'd promised my self to buy a bike but it remained just a fantasy. I even asked Pops to buy one with these specifics: Old school type, color Pink, with a basket in front, and has a kring-kring (that's how I call the bell). Until college and now that I'm already working, I have bugged my pops about bike because he also loves biking so I thought it would benefit us both. he he.

Tonight I came home with my biggest shock of the day welcoming me: Pops bought the bike!!!:D Not just a bike but it bares all the specs that I wished for! Oh what a good way to start this week!! Totally Sunny!!

I've been MIA on Blogger for 6 days! The culprit: Grad. school midterms. I really couldn't add blogging on my to do list every after work because I had to go straight making our midterm projects. I think the title The 30 Day Movie Challenge Fail would've been more appropriate but it's so negative and doesn't exactly fit my Sunny theme. I'm going to discontinue with the challenge 'cause that's going to be cheating and I loathe cheaters (chos).

So now, I just feel like blogging the sunny stuff that made my eyes twinkle this week. And when I say stuff, I meant tangible objects that made me feel a bit guilty ('cause I feel like I've splurged a bit) yet made me giddy.

When it comes to scent I don't like the strong ones that make you dizzy in an instant upon taking a quick sniff so I only have 3 top picks/favorites: Lacoste Pink, Sentiment by Escada, and the one that I got this week, Clinique Happy. They're just mild but really nice to smell. :)

Current read:

I'm taking a break from reading Harry Potter 'cause I just finished its book 5. I'm already half way through this book but so far, I'm not feeling happy. The story is nice it's just that this kind of reads are really not my type. Now I've finally decided to skip on Khaled's books 'cause they're always hardcore emotionally heart breaking, tipong you'll have a heavy heart after reading. But then again, I'm still not done reading it yet, so the plot may still take a turn to a lighter feeling. Bah. Anyway, I cannot wait to finish reading this so I can move on to another book lined up on my list which is undoubtedly a feel good book 'cause it's a chick lit.

And speaking of Harry Potter, I was finally able to see its final movie last night with my folks

Grabe, it was a mixture of emotions bouncing off all over the place from my insides! Bravo. Bravo. Bravo. Amazing story. Before all the 7 movies were released I really haven't got the chance to read any of its books even though I kept getting dragged by friends to watch the movie versions with them until last year when the Deathly Hallows' first sequel came out and I watched it with the family. My sister in law is a fan of HP and she, together w/ my brother encouraged me to just try reading the book and take my mind off the movie. She lent me the first 4 books and I started reading. Obviously, I got converted. Hands down to J.K Rowling for this genius masterpiece. It's really a page turner book, which what I'm always looking for in a book.

Yesterday, I finally got my new toy

I'm in love with Ray-Ban. I guess because they're classic and simple. And I'm a sucker for the good old classic things even with music; I appreciate the songs that this generation's parents were used to listening.
I got a good discount from an online seller that sells original branded items at a lower price. I got this for only Php. 5,950 :)

Last Friday, pop showed me his Ray-Ban aviator way back his teenage days! And I think that's so cool and sunny! His aviator looks like this--Back in the good old Beatles days. And so we've agreed that we'd wear our matching Beatles shirt and pair it w/ our aviators when we travel. Mama agreed to wear hers too and I'll lend her my other Beatles shirt and look like a walking trio of Beatles fanatics. :D

And talk about classic/old-school items, I also bought this old school/vintage-y bundle of bangles for only Php. 199.00 and a classic old school look top.

And oh, let's not forget, I found a place where to buy an original Tory Burch flats for a lower price! *smiles from ear-to-ear* Let's see, maybe that could be my next target purchase, because sayang, e. It's really cheap compared to the original price of a Tory Burch flats! But for now, it's a no 'cause I'm still skeptical on its authenticity. I'd research first how to spot a fake Tory Burch flats 'cause I don't want to spend a pretty high amount of money for a fake one.

And then when I was surfing the net I bumped into this!!! Another classic bag weakness!

It's a Longchamp beige messenger bag! Seriously, I do not dream of having LVs or Chanels. Okay fine, maybe I fancy those 2 brands but I don't get the one-day-I'm-going-to-buy-one! feeling towards them. The feeling that I get from Longchamp. Again, it's classic and it's really not just a porma bag because it really serves my needs right; for someone who just puts everything inside her bag, Longchamp is really the bag for on-the-go ladies like me. Very durable and spacious and classic looking. I love Longchamp! Now I know what to hunt in Hong Kong next week!:D

I never thought I'd like Selena Gomez but when I saw her do this, I instantly had a change of heart:

I didn't imagine, that she would end the same plight on me like Vanessa Hudgens. Because I also didn't like Vanessa Hdgens at first but when I saw that the girl has some style, I also got converted. And now, focusing my eyes on Selena G., I actually find her personality much better than Vanessa G., because for one, she's funnier, second: she's more tamed, and third: I think she has more brains.

It was a great weekend for me again. And I give all the Glory to God for that. My weekend started productively actually. Friday night, I submitted my project for one of my subjects in Grad. school and I checked all the feed backs that I got from my classmates and professor for all the recent term papers we made; I am very happy with all their feed backs. But I especially appreciated the comment that came from my professor re my papers. I was in shock; not that I don't have confidence with my own work, it's just that making all those critique, research, reading modules, and term papers were all very challenging to me given my situation of juggling 4 worlds at the same time. I had a hard time grasping some of the theories for a short span of time, that's why when I read that overwhelming feed back from my professor I got so happy because it was an affirmation that I'm on the right track. The next thing I did was to finish reading Module 5 because I wanted to take advantage of the fact that it's Friday and I can stay up late because there's no work the next day. Finally, after doing everything, I succumbed to the comforts of my pillows and sheet.

Saturday, well I continued studying but with DVD marathon, web surfing, and eating in between. :P It was my mom's birthday too, so just imagine how all the food AND not to mention the rain made me sleepy and the whole studying a total struggle. But I'm happy I was able to accomplish things that day. Plus I got a new toy! Thank you HTC! :D

Sunday, I went out with the family. We celebrated mama's birthday with the rest of my siblings. And the whole eating escapade began.

First stop: Glorietta

We went there for pops' printing purposes. While waiting for pops, mama and I strolled along the shops, promising each other that we will just settle for window shopping and do the real shopping thing in HK but in the end, we broke the pact we made ourselves! I really had to muster myself not to buy but blame it on these 2 items that made me to relapse:

Red is my favorite color of the month (yes it changes. It's actually a cycle between these colors: Black, White, Green, Brown, Purple, and Red) and I've been meaning to find my phone a new case but not just any case, it has to be RED! So when I saw this case, I just had to grab it. Anyway, it's ONLY 80 bucks! so why not coconut?:)

It actually turned out to be color orange in person (boo), the real bloody red I shall hunt on our August trip.

I love my wallet!

Like the jelly case, I also wanted a new wallet but I wasn't really looking for one, it's just that when I saw this, that's the end of it all. I would describe my style in terms of clothing as bohemian and sometimes solid ragged (Feeling Fashionista ha ha, just ride w/ my fantasy, okay?! :P) and obviously, this wallet screams my name! So there, I really love it. This wallet that costs only php.450.00 is the one who threw my Nine West wallet to my drawer and bound to get stuck for a long while.

Shared our diverse experiences on our jobs. It's actually nice that the 3 of us are on different fields: Kuya works for HTC as a Country Manager, Ate works for Makati Med. as a Medical Technologist, and I work as a Pre-school teacher at Rosewood. See how different our fields are? That's why it is really awesome sharing different stories and experiences w/ them; very liberating. We would have a good laugh every time we could steal these kind of moments. :)

Name pa lang, this food really suits me na! :P

Yesterday, just after our Nursery class, Teacher Roxy and I decided to prep up the paints the kids would be using for Monday's art while enjoying our very delish afternoon snack: Banana-Q (I swear, it's the best banana-Q I've ever tasted). I don't exactly remember the reason why I went to the teachers' room, but I found Teacher Apple there and I was wearing our art apron, and apparently, great minds indeed think alike so we just jumped excitedly and blurted, "picture tayo!" Stuffed Weekend

I really had fun during the recently unexpected long weekend because of the bad/bed weather. Although I feel for those who were badly affected by the strong wind and non-stop rain, I believe there were also some people who truly enjoyed it, and I'm one of those few (I guess). The only boo-boo that I had over the weekend was the sudden occurrence of my allergy. Anyway...

Nothing special really happened but being able to sleep on a rainy day, watch DVDs all day, read (even if it is a school book), a little shopping on the side, and eating junks to the extreme is something an ordinary employee like me would wish to experience once in a while. :P

The real highlight of my weekend was Sunday (as always). I went to Victory Alabang to hear the preaching, then we (folks and I) headed to Manila.

Destination: Trinoma

Attendance: Sergios

It was a total pig out day!

First stop: Cafe Mary Grace

I ordered my fave pasta dish from them: Spanish Sardines and Olives Pasta and Vigan Longganisa and Kesong Puti sandwich. That was some real power late lunch (for me) at around 4PM.

The 3 curly ladies. Mine and my sister's are fake though. Ma, on the other hand, is gifted with pretty natural, wash and wear curls.

After spending a good couple of hours at Cafe Mary Grace, we decided to spend an hour at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf discussing our itineraries for the trip.

After coffee, we decided to have dinner. Yes, ate again in just a matter of 3hrs! I bet the pasta and sandwich I ate from Cafe Mary Grace wasn't fully digested yet by the time we headed for dinner. Ha Ha!

I had THE ultimate shock of my day when I found out that ate Yam was able to buy an ORIGINAL and BRAND NEW Mulberry bag for ONLY php.800!!!! The exact Tan sling bag that I want, which if you would by from malls/abroad would cost you 55K!! O.O Now that's what I call JACKPOT!

Too bad our folks didn't have a picture. But yeah, that was a blast! I love my family sooooo much! Thank You God for blessing me this much! :)

Every time I'd take a break from reviewing or assignments, I'd visit my Tumblr site to view some awesome micro blogs of other users. And as I was scrolling through the many quirky stuff, I bumped into my college friend's sister, Marrione's post about this cool challenge: The 30 Day Movie Challenge. So here's the thing, basically you post a movie each day depending on the designated theme of the day, which you can find HERE. So anyway, I thought it'd be sunny to join the challenge; I thought it'd be easy too! But mind you, I had a hard time coming up with a movie for Day 1's first theme: Your Favorite Film Gah, there are too many of them but anyway, I've finally decided that this is by far my favorite movie :)

I could just simply watch this movie over and over and over and over again without getting sick of it! I really enjoy watching this movie. It really does entertain me so much so that I was able to memorize most of the lines, Heee :')

I've always, always wanted to have a pair of this Doc Martens's boots, but every time I'd be on the verge of buying, I'd end up having second thoughts, thinking would I be able to take full advantage of it? Am I gunna be wearing it frequently? The practical side of me is asking those questions. Bah, I still want it though.

I've always, always wanted to have this Rayban Aviator 3025. AND I'm so getting it finally! Uh-Yeaah!!!:D

Yes, I want an iTouch, BUT only because I need one. Actually, I need a tablet/iPad for my grad school studying stuff because I need to be able to carry my modules on Pdf file whenever and wherever but I figured an iTouch could suffice for my reading purposes and because it's waaay cheaper, plus it would be extra nice to play Tap-Tap Revenge too. I can already buy one if I want to, but like the Doc M's, I'm still having second thoughts in terms of practicality.

And lastly, I want any of these Tiffany & Co. necklaces. I have a thing for hearts and I've always been a fan of Tiffany & Co.'s, and I want to have a necklace that I could wear for any type of wardrobe: From my usual polo shirt/shirt and jeans teacher Sam look, to dresses for casual weekend trips, up to my lose shirt plus shorts lazy-to-dress-up days. I really think this second image would be perfect. I'm waiting for our family HK trip this August 'cause maybe it's cheaper to buy it there. Yes, I'm getting one. Definitely getting one! ^^

I love watching marriage proposals on Youtube. It just makes me happy to see happy lovers and got me thinking if I'd also get the thrill of it one day. As a kid, I use to perceive teachers as boring, terrorist, and losyang. But I stand corrected now that I have become an educator myself. Of course there are still terror teachers and haggard looking ones but I/We sure don't intend to be one. Teaching kids is fun, and learning should be fun. The only way for teachers to keep their passion for teaching burning is to loosen up and take a day/time to have fun.

Last 3 weeks ago, I went out with my childhood friends to watch Fast and Furious 5. Yes, childhood, ‘cause we’ve been friends since our uhugin days at Mater Ecclesiae School. I was so happy that night ‘cause I missed all of them. And it was such a long, long time since we’ve done something like that—watching a movie as a group. I almost forgot how fun it is to do that. Also, it’s feels really nice that in spite of our different lives, busy schedules, and having to face our daily adult life (boo), we still have that certain special ingredient so that when we get together under the same roof it’d instantly feel like nothing has changed; we still love each other and care for one another even in times of misunderstanding and all. I’d like you to meet the few other flavors in my life:

Alright, I know, it’s been a month since I last made a sunny entry here on Blogger but that’s not because nothing awesome are happening to me; I just got real busy, that’s all. And oh, there had also been some internet connection difficulties with our previous internet provider so we decided to look /get their competitor’s internet service instead….And why am I explaining again? Ha Ha it’s not like I’ve a group of readers naman! ^toinks^ But I must say, you, my dearly beloved readers are making me happy ‘cause the last time I checked my blog stat, it was just 80+ pa lang, but now it has reached a 3 digit blog stat! Hooray! I love it! :D

So anyway let’s get into the juice (huh? Juice? What daw?). I really dunno where to begin but for the most part, my ministry, VCF, my job, and the kids are the major factors in my happy life right now. I actually owe my different sets of friends (specially my college friends) big time ‘cause I’ve been MIA on gatherings and out of town trips for months now. I missed Calatagan, Alfonso, Anilao, Nagsasa, Quezon, and Puerto Galera trips all because my sched. decided to go all over the wrong places and dates, and that got me really busy this summer. Ironic, I know. OR maybe, I just want to enjoy this whole new thing first for a moment. Seriously, just give me 3 more months to get the hang and find my balance in juggling my job, my grad school, and voluntarism and I’d get back with a bang on my social life! Ha Ha

But wait, who said I ain’t got social life? Loookie lookie!

Last Thursday I went to UP-LB to enroll hence this giddy kiddo and just imagine her sporting her receipt with a bold, all caps stamp that shouts, “REGISTERED” C’mon! I’m pretty nervous for the sem, though. I just pray my brain didn’t go all brittle-y after 2 years of not being in school. I pray I do well this sem. GULP. I wanna glorify and make God smile on me kasi. He made everything that I’m enjoying right now possible for me. His job is done, now it’s my turn to make it all work (but still with His guidance of course).

There are many more Sunny stuff coming my way, I just don't wanna share it yet 'cause I often have the tendecy of jinxing myself when I get too excited about an event. But I'm claiming many great things talaga this year. I'm claiming God's promises and favors in my life and I think this is actually a good way of keeping track of them.

I love my life but I love more THE CREATOR who gave me one. :) <3

I wanna show you something! This one really makes me all giddy and jumpy! and if those verbs weren't enough, it also gives this kind of "kilig" feeling to me:

Teehee, Okay ba? :) I know, right? Who would have thought that after all the jobs I've had, it's the teaching all along, would give me the satisfaction that I've been searching for. Believe it or not, it really does! I just knew it. Even before, I already have a calling for teaching, but for some lame reasons I shrugged off the idea. But it was really God's will that's why He made it happen. He made it possible. :)

I just wanna share how my journey of becoming an early childhood educator happened:
It all started when I quit my first job and agreed to help with our photography (my 2nd love) business. When you're a photographer, you can handle your time--It's not a regular day job. So during my lull moments, I'd daydream of teaching, kids in particular. Then the thought of enrolling on a grad. school for a teaching course popped up. It was mid July of 2010 that I've decided to study. But something bad happened. I got distracted by the series of events that took place. So I told my friends, "how the heck am I suppose to study, when all I have in mind is this whole break up thing?!" Needless to say, my studies was set aside. I instead looked for another day job and I got one quickly. I was enjoying the job because it has something to do with (insert drum roll please) ♫Clothes♫ I love clothes kasi so there :P Anyway, to make the long story short, I was still day dreaming of being with kids and teaching them, so I eventually quit.

Come 2011 (Yes, I love timelines) I decided to continue my original plan: To study again. But this time I've decided to take a shot into getting a teaching job. And the whole fiasco started. This time, I'd like to share with you how God really made a way for me. For His will in my life. Yes, it was God's will I daresay, here's why:

(The following events took place in the month of March, 2011)
I was praying to God. I was in deep confusion at that time because, hello? I'm about to take a risk because of this decision I'm about to make. A. I'm not an Educ. grad B. Would there be a school that would give me and my dream a chance? There were a lot of doubts. So I talked to God, I told Him let His will be done in my life, let me know His purpose for me. I want to know if teaching is really His will for me, or baka ako lang ang may gusto nun. So I prayed for a confirmation, a sign that it was His will. I prayed that if I passed on the university I applied on, then it is indeed His will and I would pursue teaching. And Indeed I passed! So I started to apply on different schools.

It's really my weakness to be impatient, and because I haven't got an interview from anyone yet, again, I prayed. I told God that I believe Him but I just need hope. Something to hold on to. Hours after that short prayer I got two job interview invitations! See?? God's really at work! He is amazing!:D So there, I was full of hope and excitement until an interview took place. Grabe, the HR was soooo mean :( She really rubbed it in to my face that I'm not qualified because A. I'm not an Educ grad B. I don't have teaching units, and C. She belittled my being volunteer teacher for Kids church! She can belittle me But not the church and ministry of God! Hours after the interview, she called and invited me for another interview. I turned it down. No way Jose! Not after you belittled God's ministry! So there I talked to God again, asking--AGAIN if this is really His will, then He replied to me again by showing this school's website. I clicked on the teacher's profile and God showed me that the teachers there are also not Educ graduates like me! I was so sad and down after that interview, I even told about it to my 3 friends (Tina, Joy, and Chelle) but God cheered me up! He showed to me that everything is possible to those who believe Him and His will! you see how sweet God is? :") He knows how to comfort His children. And until now I am still thankful for that moment. God never left me in this journey. Up to the time when I was torn between which school am I going to accept, His provision and guidance were still there. Tell you what, I've been seeing images of a "tree" that month and mind you they were always with the same shape. From my Bible, to another book I was reading, to youtube (can you believe it? Youtube!), to another website, and even in accessories I see the same shape of a tree! Until I realized that the school logo of the other school I applied for is a "tree" Same shape! Same curves! SAME! :') AMAZING! I don't know about you but God has been really making me bilib and in awe. I don't believe in coincidence because I believe God and His purpose. I believe something happened for a reason and not a coincidence, because if you would keep thinking that it's just coincidence then what you would all have is doubt. Doubt in everything might make you miss the chance that God's actually speaking to you through events and chance encounters with someone or something (because you think it's just a coincidence). Even the reason why you're reading my blog post is no coincidence. There's a reason/purpose behind that:)

I had an awesome Friday. Was w/ my dearest friend Tina, almost the entire day. And I especially thank her for always, ALWAYS putting up with my cravings. Like when I asked her if I could eat Jollibee's cornsilog meal. I've been craving for corned beef for a long time 'cause my pop doesn't approve of us buying canned goods, he's health freak/buff that way, but that's a different story. So, here's what took place:

Polaroid beauty

I really like how the polaroid develops an image. It gives you that kind of nostalgic feeling and puts a drama or emotion on a single shot. Needless to say, I went gaga with it, hence the following photos:

I can't wait to take more polaroid shots with my handy dandy application on my HTC Tattoo mobile. Because, we had polaroids before, and boy they weren't cheap! And the ones we had before were disposables, so having an application on my mobile is pretty practical and sleek.
